So, it seems perfectly natural that riding 350+km/week for two weeks in a row would tire me out. My legs are completely wasted.
It’s true that my muscles are sore, but that’s not the problem. I’ve lived with near constant muscle soreness since I was an elementary school kid and I’m used to it.
I’m definitely riding more slowly, but that’s not the problem either. Compared to six months ago my exhausted pace is still better than my top pace then.
No, the part that’s hard to handle is that the fire has become inaccessible to me. I am stronger than this, faster than this, smoother than this. I am a beast, or so I should be, but this week I feel like nothing more than another cyclist on the road.
